Modern Luxury Highlights C2 Art’s Role in Houston Midcentury Home Transformation

Modern Luxury recently spotlighted a remarkable renovation of a midcentury Houston residence, where C2 Art played a pivotal role in curating an art collection that seamlessly blends international flair with the home's architectural integrity.

Under the creative direction of Chandos Dodson Epley, the 6,500-square-foot home—originally designed by builder Richard Condon with influences from Frank Lloyd Wright—was transformed to reflect the client's Mexican heritage while embracing a Houston aesthetic. C2 Art, co-founded by Epley and Mary Hammon Quinn, collaborated closely with the client to source artworks that resonate with the home's modernist roots and the client's cultural background.

The curated collection features notable pieces such as Field Kallop’s "Blossom" (2019), Sarah Awad’s "Pacific Split" (2019), and Josef Albers’ "I-S Va 6" (1969), each selected to enhance the home's warm palette of terra cotta and moss green. These works not only complement the interior design but also reflect C2 Art's commitment to integrating art that tells a personal and cohesive story within a living space.

This project exemplifies C2 Art's expertise in residential art advisory, demonstrating how thoughtful curation can elevate a home's design and reflect the owner's unique narrative.
